Ya’ll Ready for Some Southern Fried Fusion Cooking?

Hi Ya’ll! I just wanted to do a quick introduction to tell you a bit about myself and my site.

I started this site to celebrate my love of cooking and instructing. I was motivated to begin this site when I was told by not one but two family members that they did not know how to bake a good pan of cornbread. Now, being from the Deep South, that just wasn’t acceptable to me. I decided I needed to be able to teach them how to make a proper pan of cornbread…. I said proper! Don’t be coming at me with your box of jiffy or sugar added cornbread, that stuff just ain’t right!

Blogs that will be featured will include some simple “Southern Staples” like real southern cornbread, fried chicken, apple pie, chicken pot pie and such. This is where the Southern Fried of “Southern Fried Fusions” comes in. The Fusion part comes in from all the other influences in my cooking.

One such influence is my husband. Over 20 years ago, I was introduced to Persian cooking through my husband’s family. Over the years I have been perfecting some Persian dishes, but being from the Deep South, I am well aware of the fact that these dishes are not 100% authentic. They are my Southern Persian Fusion dishes and recipes, which I will be sharing.

I am also a lover of sweets and love to bake and make desserts. A lot of my recipes are influenced from other areas, but still carry certain elements from my Southern roots. Even more Southern Fried Fusions.

I am going to get to creating content now. I hope you enjoy my take on these recipes and that I am able to teach each of you something new – be it a brand new recipe or how to make a traditional Southern staple that you have never been able to master.
