FOOTBALLLLLL CHILI

Now, if you did not hold the “Footballllll” for at least 6 seconds go back and reread the title. That title marks my excitement about making Chili today. Today is the traditional first day of Chili. Today marks our team’s first game of the year, it marks the beginning of football season for us, it marks the beginning of fall, and it marks the point I can start making all my favorite fall recipes. Now if only it would cool off enough, so I do not feel like an idiot for eating chili while it is 95 degrees outside.

Now there are many different Chili recipes out there, but this is my traditional Chili recipe. Which means it is easy. You will not find any strange ingredients in this recipe, like chocolate. Been there, done that. You will not find any homemade seasonings, I really like just tearing open that little bag of seasoning. This is an easy, can make for Monday Night Football, after a full day of work Chili.

In a large pot, I like using my dutch oven, add 2 pounds of ground beef, 1 chopped onion and 2 packages of chili seasoning until beef is browned.

Add stewed tomatoes and remaining seasoning packages.

Cover and simmer for 30 minutes

Add chili beans.

Simmer for additional 20 minutes.

Serve with Frito’s and Cheddar Cheese. This Chili also works great for Chili dogs.

For a Keto friendly version compare the chili seasoning to find the one with the least amount of sugar and leave out the chili beans.
